When Alec finds his mate, Jane is left alone for the first time in her life. She begins the search for her own companion and finds one...in a human. Will Jane give love a chance, or will fear drive her away? Femmeslash
When I first read the summary of the story, I was immediately interested. Jane has always been a favorite character of mine and I always wanted to read a story about her. It is complete and it has outtakes that go along with it.
Jane's brother, Alec, has mated with Demetri and ever since she has felt lonely. Jane's started to get short tempered, using her powers against anyone she comes across. Aro, seeing her distress, suggests that she try finding her own mate, a human since she has not shown interest to anyone on the guard.
One of the things I enjoyed the most about the story was Jane and Aro's relationship, it is more like a father/daughter relationship. It gives more depth to the characters of the Volturi, which I wish canon would have done. One of my favorite parts of the story is a Jane's description of how they spend time together.
It made her understand a little better why Isabella had so regretted leaving her father Charlie behind in Washington after her change. Jane had always adored Aro, from the moment he had snatched her from the flames of her funeral pyre, but he had been her master and she his guard. Now, he was her…father (the word still felt odd to her mind and her lips, though it was getting easier), and she was relishing a kind of parental attention that she had never known or at least, that she could remember.
The times with him she enjoyed the most with him were after he had tired of their games and they sat, quiet and relaxed, on a shaded hillside that abutted the Volturi’s property in Volterra. Aro would pull her into his arms, stroking her hair absently, and they would talk of inconsequential things…as well as issues that were starting to arise when she was close to Caia.
Now Go read and review this good fic!
